About Thermacell

How do I construct lintels over the windows in the walls?

Standard window height is 2.1m from the floor. Using Thermacell 300 Series blocks, seven courses (to the bottom of the eighth course) reaches exactly 2.1m and only needs to be blanked off with a piece of timber, which needs to be supported by props. We can also supply a polystyrene header piece which fits under the eighth course, and will give a good finish.

If it’s desired to have a higher window height, then the use of our lintel block (which is 150mm in depth) can be fitted under the ninth course.

This will give a window height of 2.25m from the floor.

Steel reinforcing should be suspended in the middle of the lintel block and should extend into the walls on either side of the window by at least 500mm.
