It is usual to excavate some of the slope and utilize this area as an underground garage, games room, SafeCell fire shelter, or even for water storage.
Once the ground is levelled a slab can be laid and the appropriate Thermacell blocks laid around the edges.
The blockwork can be used not only as a structural wall but as a retaining wall. A concrete slab or wooden floor can then be built on top of the walls, and the rest of the house can be built above.
