While not essential, some builders who use Thermacell also chose to use their own braces. Bracing gives builders extra piece of mind, knowing that the walls will go up as quickly and easily as they require. However, owner-builders can rest assured that walls can be put up just as easily without any braces at all, provided sensible precautions are taken.
The only circumstances in which we recommend the use of bracing are in high-wind areas, and where you plan to pour more than 2.5 - 3.0m height of concrete core in one go.
The Thermacell system is an extremely strong system - bracing is generally only used because the builder chooses to do so.
It should be understood that the system works just as well with or without braces.
Thus bracing for Thermacell generally comes down to personal choice and preference - it is not a requirement.
